Cylinder and Storage System Testing Services

Confirm performance under pressure – literally. We test storage systems and pressure vessels hydraulically or under hydrogen conditions to assess durability, flaw performance, functionality, and fire safety.

Hydrogen Cycling Testing
  • Hydrogen cycling up to 90MPa and as cold as -50°C (adheres to SAE J2719)
  • Ambient temperature from -50°C to 90°C
  • Permeation testing up 60°C (optional continuous sampling)\
  • Dynamic emissions testing and leak testing
Hydraulic Testing
  • Hydraulic testing up to 138MPa and as cold as -50°C
  • Ambient temperature from -50°C to 90°C
  • Accelerated stress rupture testing
  • Hydraulic burst tests up to 275MPa

  • Localized and engulfing bonfire test
  • Penetration and gunfire tests

Component Testing

Validate safety-critical components before they hit the road. Powertech tests valves, regulators, relief devices, and other hydrogen/CNG transportation components under high-pressure and dynamic conditions—helping OEMs and integrators meet regulatory standards and deliver with confidence.

Component lab features:
  • Hydrogen gas endurance tests up to 93MPa (adheres to SAE J2719)
  • Hydrogen gas pressure up to 140MPa
  • Hydraulic endurance tests up to 140MPa
  • Hydrostatic burst tests up to 500MPa
  • Ambient temperature ranges from -75°C to 180°C
  • Pre-cooled hydrogen flow up to 300g/s

Material Compatibility Testing

Avoid hidden failure risks in high-pressure hydrogen environments. Powertech evaluates how materials respond to hydrogen exposure over time, including assessments for embrittlement, leakage, and chemical degradation under CSA, ISO, and ASME standards.
