Powertech joins Premier Christy Clark on her trade mission to Japan on May 15th 2012. As part of the Premier’s visit to Tokyo, she announced Powertech’s Letter of Intent to enter into a strategic alliance with Tomoe Shokai Co. Ltd., an industrial supplier of high-pressure gases and liquid petroleum gases in Asia.

With help from the BC Trade Commission in Tokyo, Powertech identified Tomoe Shokai as a potential partner to represent Powertech’s hydrogen technologies in Japan. “The primary market would be the sale of ‘Made in British Columbia’ hydrogen fuelling stations, to provide a fuelling infrastructure for hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles,” explains Craig Webster, Director of Clean Transportation Engineering at Powertech.
Powertech pioneered the first 700 bar fast fill hydrogen fuelling station in 2002, and they continue to take a leadership role in the development of hydrogen fuelling technologies. Powertech’s hydrogen station designs are endorsed by all major Japanese automotive companies, accommodating the requirements of international markets.
