Powertech Becomes Associate Member of California Fuel Cell Partnership (CaFCP)
October 23, 2007
Powertech Labs has accepted an invitation from the California Fuel Cell Partnership (CaFCP) to become an Associate member. The CaFCP is an exclusive collaboration of automotive manufacturers, energy providers, fuel cell companies and government organizations working together to promote the commercialization of hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles. Powertech was invited specifically because of our world-leading expertise in the design and construction of 700 bar (10,000 psi) hydrogen fuelling stations. It is the intention of CaFCP to have Powertech lead the introduction of these stations into the California market. Participation in the CaFCP will also assist Powertech in carrying out the BC Energy Plan objective of constructing a "Hydrogen Highway" between Surrey and California. As stated today at a Tokyo automotive conference by Takeo Fukui, the President of Honda (Japan's second-largest automaker), "...there's no future for the auto industry without fuel cell cars [and] I expect that fuel cell vehicles will come very close to a mass production in 10 years' time".
