Gouri Bhuyan elected to ASME Fellow status

Gouri Bhuyan has been elected to a FELLOW GRADE by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for his significant contribution to the mechanical engineering profession. A six-person panel having familiarity with Gouri’s past work recommended him for a Fellow grade for his following specific contributions made during his past 20 years of professional career: - Code and Standard work related to fatigue & fracture of pressure vessels,
- Research & Developmental work related to fatigue & fracture of welded offshore structures, storage cylinders for Natural Gas for Vehicle (NGV) and industrial gas applications, and management of overhead utility assets using risk & reliability concepts, and
- Leadership role for the ocean energy activities in North America.
The ASME FELLOW certificate will be awarded to Gouri at the upcoming ASME Pressure Vessel & Piping (PVP) Conference in Vancouver on July 26.
